Ozone is one of the most effective methods of disinfection/oxidation that exists. It is indicated for the treatment of water, air and industrial products.

 

One of the main differences from other methods is full respect for the environment when using it. Contaminants, odours, colours and microorganisms are directly destroyed by ozone without damaging the treated products and without leaving residues.

 

In certain cases, to ensure a high quality of the water used, methods of physical treatment like flocculation, filtration and others, are not sufficient to achieve the required effects. Ozone action is much more ecological and safe compared to the alternative treatments with oxidizing agents as chlorine.

 

The generation of the ozone process is simple. Ozone is obtained with special production from gas containing oxygen, which applies an electric discharge, thus generating a stream of high tension between the two electrodes. These electrodes are separated by a dielectric and two spaces for discharge where the gas flow passes. A part of the molecule of oxygen from the gas used dissociates in the electric field and are associated with oxygen molecules released, forming ozone molecules.


Advantages of using ozone systems:

- Very effective oxidizer.
- Does not produce waste substances.

 

The effects of oxidation by ozone are:

 - Disinfection

- Discoloration
- Deodorization
- Improvement of COD and BOD
- Optimization of filtration and flocculation
- Oxidation of unstable elements (Fe, Mn, etc.).

 

Ozone generator equipment are compact, fully assembled units and ready to  produce cheaply ozone from oxygen. Production of ozone levels can be adjusted within a range of values to get the required application.

 

The most important technical values of these equipment are displayed on the panels, to ensure a correct and reliable handling of the same.

 

The benefits of ozone in aquaculture can be summarized in:

 

Removal of dissolved organic compounds:

These compounds give a turbidity effect to the water, are not biodegradable and are cumulative. High amounts of dissolved organic compounds can stress the fish,which in turn makes the bio-filter less efficient

 

Elimination of colloidal matters:

These small particles of 1 to 30 microns that remain in suspension, are not effectively removed by conventional mechanical filtration systems. The accumulation of these particles may limit the efficiency of the nitrification of the bio filter and stress the fish.

 

Ozone acts on these particles by micro-flocculation, improving the removal of suspended particles by foaming, filtration and sedimentation.

 

Removal of nitrite:

High levels of nitrites can be toxic for the fish.

Detector of ozone in working area

 

Detector of ozone in working area for detection continuously.

Ozone detector consists of a transmitter and a sensor for ozone gas. This instrument tracks, (through a signal 4-20mA sent to the controller of the installation system), the level of ozone in the atmosphere and initiates appropriate measures and actions when dangerous levels are detected which could be adverse health.

 

Features:

The transmitter has internal memory which contains the information of the gas, range, values of calibration, compensation for temperature, speed of global warming and own vitality data. This allows you to use the sensors and transmitters free of maintenance.

 

Communication with the Control system is done through an analog signal 4 to 20 Ma.

 

Simple installation directly on the wall at a height not exceeding 50 cm.
